A Letter To Changi (A documentary about Changi Village)

The documentary follows a student filmmaker going back to Changi Village, where her father was raised. With the older generation continuously going back to Changi Village, she decides to make a documentary to find out as to what makes that place such an important memory to them and unearthing the past of Changi Village before the Government development. Directed by Lee Si Min Director's Statement: There are many heritage sites in Singapore that still retain its infrastructure but many of them lost its culture while building towards becoming a tourist attraction. However, Changi Village is still a pertinent neighbourhood that retained not just its infrastructure but the laid-back culture as well as its friendly residents. This documentary showcases the beauty of Changi Village and that Changi village is more than just its hawker centre. What can we learn from these residents is their kampong spirit that remains even until today. Through the voices of my father and the remaining residents of Changi, I hope the younger generations would appreciate Changi for its nature, heritage and people. And for those who have yet been to Changi, I really urge you to leave your house and come visit Changi Village. A New Wave Production Film Director Lee Si Min Producer Hamzah A. L.
